Theo trang mạng RBK, Chủ tịch tập đoàn dầu mỏ Rosneft của Nga, ông Igor Sechin ngay từ cuối năm 2012 đã tuyên bố tập đoàn của ông vượt nhà độc quyền khí đốt Gazprom, trở thành doanh nghiệp nộp thuế lớn nhất. Khi đó, người đứng đầu tập đoàn độc quyền khí đốt Nga Alexei Miller vẫn có thể phản bác điều này.
Chính phủ Mỹ ngày 17/8 đã nhất trí cấp phép cho tập đoàn dầu khí đa quốc gia Royal Dutch Shell khoan thăm dò dầu và khí đốt tự nhiên tại vùng biển Bắc Cực.
Giá dầu giảm, những nước Trung Đông bao lâu nay vốn sống nhờ vào dầu mỏ hiện không dễ chịu chút nào. Sự thịnh vượng chỉ được xây lên nhờ dầu mỏ khó có thể bền vững, đó là quan điểm được đưa ra trong một bài bình luận vừa được tạp chí The Economist đăng tải.
